Never underestimate the value of who asks for the gift—it is the most important single element.

– Joshua Pretlow Darden, Jr, 1936-2014.

Impetuous and premature solicitations, no matter how well-intended, are detrimental to an institution’s development future as well as mission and vision. Careful and comprehensive organizational planning—through advocacy and prospect cultivation—and thoughtful, well-researched solicitations are what assure maximum gifts to our clients and solid, long-term major donor relationships.

The Kellogg Organization limits the number of engagements it undertakes at any given time.

This protocol protects the commitment of the firm’s Principals to maintaining direction of client activities, including strategic planning, pre-campaign planning, research, structuring, and campaign implementation. Whether a campaign is for $5 million or $125 million, there is regular weekly contact and communication with clients by the Principals and ongoing direction of the project team by Senior Executive Consultants.

Careful research, structuring, and implementation are the tenets upon which The Kellogg Organization’s successful fundraising campaigns are planned and strategically operated.

Cost-effective fee structures and diligent management of campaign operating budgets always receive the highest priority in The Kellogg Organization’s campaigns. Whenever engagement budgets are discussed with prospective clients, the fees—as well as travel and other reimbursements—are reviewed in advance and in detail before being agreed to by both parties.
